PRESENT IDEAS FOR THE BUDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Every year I get asked what products should you get if you or if you have a child or spouse interested in Photography so I thought I would put an easy to access list.

All dslrs (Digital Single-Lens Reflex ) all use the same basic functions. The higher grade as well as higher priced cameras just have a broader range of those functions. I recommend getting a older used dslr for kids or if you want to go the brand new route, Amazon is a great source. 

For the person who already has a camera, the gift of knowledge is a powerful thing. I now offer a online basic photography class that can be found in my shop. Youtube is also a great free source, or there is a site called creativelive.com. Most courses on that site are $29. Creative live isnt really a kids source.

A photographer cant have too many sd cards. Black Friday is a great time to scoop up deals on sd cards.

Items a photographer can use:

tripod

small camera bag that only fits camera

large camera backpack 

sd card holder

sd card reader

extra batteries

lens cleaning kit

external hard drive (a lot of pictures on your computer can clog it up and slow it down, having an external hard drive to put them on frees up that space on your computer)

an editing program like lightroom or photoshop
